DHS will follow a different schedule the week of November 8.

Monday, Nov. 8-Regular Monday Periods 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, & 7;
Tuesday, Nov. 9-Thursday Block with Periods 1, 3, 5 & 7 (out at 2:30);
Wednesday, Nov.10-Wednesday Block with Periods 2, 4, & 6;
Thursday, Nov. 11-NO SCHOOL Legal Holiday;
Friday, Nov. 12-NO SCHOOL Work Reduction Day

DAY IN HISTORY

Woodrow Wilson Wins Election, Nov. 5, 1912. On this day, Democrat Woodrow Wilson was elected the 28th president of the United States. Wilson won 435 electoral votes while Progressive Party candidate Theodore Roosevelt won 88 votes. Republican President William Howard Taft came in third with only 8 Electoral College votes. Wilson would lead the United States during World War I and propose the League of Nations.

REMINDER

1. Get ready to hit the slopes, buy great new gear and used gear at the Davis Senior High School Snowboard Team's ski and snowboard swap on Saturday, November 6 from 9am-3pm in the parking lot of Ken's Bike and Ski at 650 G St in Davis. Portions of the sale will go to benefit the DHS Snowboard team. Donations to the swap can be dropped off at Ken's Bike and Ski, 650 G St on Friday, November 5 between 6 and 8pm or Saturday, November 6 between 7 and 9am. Get rid of your old ski and snowboard equipment and clothing and support you local businesses and the Davis High School Snowboard team.

NEW

1. DHS Ski Team's Annual Fundraiser Ski Swap is on Sunday, November 14th from 9am-3pm at DHS in the Old Gym. Bring your used equipment and clothing to sell, great bargains on new and used equipment and clothing. Check your items in Saturday, November 13 between 4-8pm or Sunday, November 14th from 7:30-9am.

2. Attention CAHSEE Testers: If you received a letter in the mail about the CAHSEE test on November 9th and 10th, please note that the test will be located in the North Davis Elementary MPR both days. Please arrive by the time stated on your letter.

3. DHS Men's Basketball. The DHS Men's Basketball program has its own, up-to-date website. It includes important tryout and registration information. Athletes are required to bring the registration form on the website to the first day of tryouts are November 8th. The link is www.davishighhoops.com

4. Attention Seniors! Senior ad deadlines are coming up quick! Talk to your parents about sending in your childhood photos, the next deadline is November 29th. After that the prices will go up! Come to A-7 to pick up your senior ad form, or look online at the DHS website.

1. High School Boys JV & Varsity LACROSSE Registration and Meeting Information Davis High School Boys LACROSSE Registration Opens NOVEMBER 1, 2010. If you're interested in learning more about or playing Lacrosse, it's important that you sign-up online, so that you'll be included in all future correspondence. Parents, there are no fees to register and just three easy steps to get started. 2. The Davis High School Jazz Choir will present "Karaoke Night" on Wed, Nov. 10 from 7-10pm at Holmes Jr. High MPR. The Davis community is invited to an interactive program to entertain both teens and adults. Participants will hear the Jazz Choir perform, and everyone will have the opportunity to be Karaoke singers themselves as soloists, duos or trios. Dance breaks will intersperse the singing, and pizza will be available to purchase at intermission. Special guest soloists will appear throughout the night. Door prizes will be announced near the end of the evening. Proceeds from the evening will benefit the Jazz Choir's trip to New York City where they will participate in the Nationals Finale Show Choir Championships at Radio City Music Hall.
