ASSEMBLY SCHEDULE for Thursday, May 27, 2010: 1st period- 7:45-8:30 a.m. (45 minutes), 3rd period- 8:36-9:06 a.m. (30 minutes) 3rd period teachers escort their students to the assembly, Assembly- 9:06-10:41a.m. (1 hour, 35 minutes), Break- 10:41-10:45 a.m. (4 minutes), 3rd period- 10:50-11:25 a.m. (35 minutes) - (Two 3rd periods combined 65 minutes), 5th period- 11:31-12:30 p.m. (59 minutes), LUNCH- 12:30-1:25 p.m. (55 minutes), 7th period - 1:31 - 2:30 (59 minutes)

* The Davis High School Men's Blue Devil Basketball summer tryouts will be held TODAY thru Friday, May 28 in the Davis High Gymnasium. Varsity tryouts will be from 4 pm to 5:30 pm and JV/Freshmen from 5:30 pm to 7 pm. * SENIORS: Buy your Grad Night Tickets now. Tickets are $90 each if purchased by May 31st, but they will be $110 if you wait to buy them at the door. Tickets will be on sale at lunch TODAY on the DHS Quad or you can download an order form at www.davisgradnight.org. DON'T wait until the last minute!
* Parent and golfer informational meeting, TODAY at 6:30pm in room N-8. All interested in playing on the fall girl's golf team are invited to attend.
* Come to the Political Forum Club TODAY for the end of the year celebration for our great club! Food and beverages will be provided! Come to P-23 for the good stuff.

* Attention CSF Members: There are only 2 CSF meetings left in the school year. Please come to the meeting this Friday in P-13. There are very few CSF activities left, but we need lots of sign ups related to Senior Awards Night. Come to the meeting and find out more about it!
* Positive School Climate Committee is collecting school supplies for an impoverished school in Bangladesh. We would appreciate items such as pencils, erasers, notebooks and folders. Please drop off these items in the collecting box in your 4th period class.
* Senior Awards Night is almost here! ALL SENIORS are encouraged to come and support their classmates at Senior Awards Night on Tuesday, June 1 at 7:00 in the IPAB. This is a fun and enthusiastic event at we look forward to seeing you there! Come to the Scholarship and Financial Aid Office if you have questions.
* SENIORS: NAMES OF ALL STUDENTS RECEIVING SCHOLARSHIPS, AWARDS, OR SPECIAL RECOGNITION AT SENIOR AWARDS NIGHT ARE NOW POSTED! COME TO THE SCHOLARSHIP AND FINANCIAL AID OFFICE TO CHECK THE LIST TO SEE IF YOUR NAME IS ON IT!

* The DHS Site Council will meet this Thursday, May 27th at 3:00 in Library West Conference Room. Everyone is welcome to attend.
* The year is almost over and what better way to remember than to pick up your yearbook in A-7 during Lunch! JUNIORS and SOPHOMORES: pick up days are Thursday and Friday. They are $80 for everyone who has not purchased one yet!
* SENIORS: Don't forget to request your FINAL TRANSCRIPT to be sent to the college you will be attending. Bring in a stamped addressed envelope to the Transcript Counter and follow the directions posted.
* SENIORS: Don't forget to fill out a PERMANENT ADDRESS CARD if you haven't already. Cards are available at the Counseling Office.
* Attention students: Finals are right around the corner! Do you need help with an essay or class project? Do you need help reviewing for math? The Academic Center has tutors who can help you out! Stop by M-2 during lunch and after school to get some help.
* Volunteers are needed to help at All Things Right and Relevant thrift stores in Davis. Students must be 15 years or older, and must commit to working a minimum of 4 hours per week. Students can volunteer during school, or over the summer. Contact Nadia Trauner at 759-1125 or nadtraun at yahoo.com, or come to the Scholarship and Financial Aid Office for more information.
* Attention all physical education students: The last day to do P.E. make ups is Friday May 28th! After that no make ups will be accepted. Until that time, you can make up everyday at lunch in the big gym and on Wednesday's at lunch or after school you can dress out and run the track (running is the only way to make up cardio points). Please be on time!
* Davis World Cup 2010, the premier annual AYSO Select Soccer Tournament held in Davis is quickly approaching. Memorial Day Weekend, May 29th - May 31st, over 150 teams throughout the state will come to Davis and compete. AYSO needs your help! If you have ever played in this tournament, love soccer or just like to help, please contact Dea Athon Diamant at dadiamant at comcast.net <mailto:dadiamant at comcast.net> or 400-1207 for more information. Join the fun and lend a helping hand.
* SENIORS: Have you been the recipient of any scholarships or awards not administered by the Scholarship and Financial Aid Office, including those from the college you will attend in the fall? If so, please come to the Scholarship Office and sign the "Outside Award" list. These awards will be announced at Senior Awards Night, which is scheduled for Tuesday, June 1 at 7:00 p.m. in the Performing Arts Theater.
* Sports Physical Day at Sutter Davis is Saturday, June 5th from 8:30-11:30am at Sutter Family Practice, 2030 Sutter Place Suite 2000. Why wait? Students in grades 7-12 are encouraged to complete their sports physicals this spring at Sutter West Medical Group for the 2010-11 school year. Coaches strongly recommend that you take this opportunity to get your physicals early so that you can be ready to participate in early tryouts. Your $20 donations will benefit the DHS Athletics Department. Sports Physical packets can be picked up at your student's school office or online at www.davisseniorhigh.net <http://www.davisseniorhigh.net> Packets must be completed, signed by a parent/guardian and brought with you on June 5th in order to participate in the clinic.
