Tuesday, March 30 is an assembly schedule: 1st Period -7:45-8:30 a.m. (45 minutes), 2nd Period - 8:36-9:24 a.m. (48 minutes), 2nd Period teachers escort their students to the assembly, Assembly -9:24-10:06 a.m. (42 minutes), Break - 10:06-10:10 a.m. (4 minutes),
3rd Period - 10:16-11:04 a.m. (48 minutes), 4th Period - 11:10 a.m.-12:04 p.m. (54 minutes),
LUNCH - 12:04-12:48 p.m. (44 minutes), 5th Period - 12:54-1:42 p.m. (48 minutes), 6th Period -1:48-2:36 p.m. (48 minutes), 7th Period - 2:42-3:30 p.m. (48 minutes).

* The City of Davis "Street Smarts" campaign is holding a Teen Essay Contest for 7th -12th grade students. 1st prize is $300, 2nd prize is $200 and 3rd prize is $100. Participants compose an essay on traffic safety topics including pedestrian safety, helmet use, or texting while driving. Deadline is April 16. Come to the Scholarship Office for info!
* The Multicultural Club will have officer elections this Friday at lunch in room S-7. Underclassmen are encouraged to run! See you there!
* Do you have bottle-throwing capabilities? Do you want a ride on the friendship ship? Bring your caboosh to the friendship day crew and bust out your moves. Turn in your applications by April 2. Drive safe!

* Seeking info on applying to college? College Information Night for juniors and their parents is Thursday, March 25 at 7:00 P.M., in the IPAB. Learn about public and private colleges, scholarships and financial aid, SATs and other testing, and more. Find out what you need to get into the college of your choice before signing up for next year's classes.
* We want to know where you're going after high school! Come to the Scholarship Office and sign the WHERE ARE YOU GOING!!! list! Tell us if you're going to college, working, joining the military, traveling, studying abroad, or whatever!
* Attention all juniors and sophomores! If you have an interest in designing, editing and publishing the prestigious Davis Senior High Yearbook, please apply for the class for the 2010-11 school year. Pick up an application in the office or in A-7. The deadline is this Friday, March 26 so don't miss out on one of the best experiences DHS offers! This application is competitive, so we recommend you really put your best foot forward.
* Join the HUB! The HUB is looking for prospective applicants interested in fulfilling jobs including web master, photographers, graphic artists, and an assistant business manager. If interested, please visit L-20 for applications. Applications are due March 26.
* Last day to drop a class is Friday, March 26. This is the end of quarter three. You need parent permission to drop a class. Forms are in counseling and get your parent/guardian signature or provide a note with your parent/guardian signature All students must have five classes. Make an appointment with your counselor to drop a class.
* Are you interested in a summer program to learn more about plant or animal science? AgDiscovery is an outreach summer program sponsored by the USDA, and is designed to help high school students learn about careers in plant and animal science and wildlife management. Students live on the U. of Arizona campus for 2-3 weeks and the only cost is transportation. Come to the Scholarship and Financial Aid Office for information.
* Calling all doodlers! Enter the Doodle for Google contest where students design the Google logo alongside the theme "If I Could Do Anything, I Would". The winning doodler will have his or her artwork viewed by millions on the Google homepage, win a college scholarship, and earn a computer for the school! Please see Ms. Diem for details or log on to google.com/doodle4google. Entries are due by March 31st.

* Unitrans service on the P/Q buses and other all-day lines will be on special schedules March 16-26, because of UCD finals and spring break. The S and T lines are NOT affected and will run as they normally do. Please consult Unitrans schedules or web page (www.unitrans.com <outbind://20/www.unitrans.com>) or call 752-BUSS for details. Saturday/holiday service will be running March 24-26, but with added trips on the P, Q, J, W, and O lines starting at 7:00 and 8:00 am. During the week of March 22-26, Unitrans will run extra buses on the P and Q lines to accommodate dismissal times.The added buses will leave DHS at 2:40 pm Mon-Fri and at 3:40 pm on Mon, Tue, and Friday.
