[Dhsbb-symph] Band Boosters Meeting tonight, and other important stuff, PLEASE READ

Hi all
Meeting tonight, 7:30 pm, band room.  Agenda: Director's report, Treasurer's report, Jazz band trips Reno and San Francisco, Victoria, Coconut Grove.January meeting minutes attached.
Reminder to Jazz band parents: For the Reno and San Francisco trips to happen there needs to be jazz band parent leader(s) planning these trips, including additional fundraising to add in the San Francisco outing. Come to the meeting tonight or contact us.

Unfortunately there has been much less participation in fundraising so far this year, and as a result we are about $5000 behind our goals.  This will significantly impact the remainder of the year, and into next year.  So here's how you can help:
Coconut Grove: This is our biggest fundraiser of the year.  Tickets are now available for A Night at Coconut Grove, an fun filled evening of jazz music, dinner, and silent auction, Saturday March 7 at Emerson Junior High.  The Davis Senior High School and junior high jazz ensembles will be performing during the evening.  Tickets range from $15 for performers/student volunteers, $25 for students to $50 for adults, and can be purchased through the DHS Band Boosters website: groups.dcn.org/dhsbandboosters or at Brown Bag Coconut Grove.  Attached is a flier you can use to post to your social media.  Spread the word and buy your tickets now!
Direct Donation: Remember the district provides very little funding per student, so consider Band as another activity your student is in, with associated costs involved.  We ask every family to please donate $350 per year, or as much as possible for your family.  Donations are tax deductible.  If you are able but haven't yet donated, please do so.  Any amount is helpful.  Checks made out to DHS Band Boosters and mailed to DHS Band Boosters, P.O. Box 73522, Davis, CA 95617, or credit card on our band boosters website  groups.dcn.org/dhsbandboosters
Anyone can contact many of the local restaurants and plan a fundraiser.  Just contact them and let me know.
