[Dhsbb-jazz] Play-A-Thon this Friday!

Hi Everyone!



I hope you all had very nice holidays and are all refreshed and ready to
see your students resume the school year.  This Friday we have the DHS
Bands Play-A-Thon.  Years ago it was a fund raising event.  Now it is just
a fun event for the kids and we also have the 9th graders (freshman) from
the Jr. Highs join the combined bands.  The event helps promote the music
community spirit as well as being a fun time for all.



The last few years the kids pretty well faded after midnight so Mr.
Slabaugh thought that this year he would make the event shorter.  So, it
will go from 7:00pm to Midnight.  It is being held at the Emerson MPR.



The Band Boosters will provide 20 extra large pizzas for the group.  We
will also provide 3 ice chests with ice to chill drinks.  *We are asking
that families bring the following:*

·         *A – G families bring drinks.  Please bring 12oz drinks to go in
ice chests.  (no liter or multi liter bottles)*

·         *H – L families bring paper plates and napkins or paper towels.*

·         *M – P families bring chips.*

·         *Q – Z families bring deserts.*

*Also, there will be a need for chaperones.  Last year we had a minimum of
4 per shift.  There were a lot more shifts because the event went all the
way to morning.  Please e-mail me with your name and the time you would
like to hang out.  The shifts will be: 7:00 to 9:30 and 9:30 to Midnight.*
