[Dhsbb-jazz] Reno Jazz Festival Information

Some more info for this weekend:

Vibes kids who are attending that combo performance early Friday morning  
are under the supervision of Lonna Hampton until they meet up with our group  
when we arrive.  As Tom's note said, we will decide once we arrive if we  
are going to the evening Jazz concert or just out to dinner on Friday evening 
-  it will depend on our arrival time (traffic) and stomach input at that  
time.  We will be in cell phone contact once we are in Truckee (about 30  
min from Reno) and make the decision at that point.  

For those meeting at DHS on Friday afternoon - be sure to exchange cell  
phone numbers so we can chat with someone in the car as we approach  Truckee. 
It would be nice to check into the hotel if we are not trying to  make that 
evening concert.....

Hotel for the group is Circus Circus.  It's pretty easy to find this  
place....just look for a big pink thing with a gazillion lights and a monorail  
tram driving overhead near the main Reno strip....

Katie Horn this weekend as they are already paid for.

Student price:  $32 per person
Adult price:  $128 per room

Other funds needed:
Breakfast buffet at the hotel  (8 - 10 a.m.)  $10 pp
Dinner Fri/Lunch Sat  
Spending $$ for Midway Games if desired
If going to the show Fri night, entrance fee for that $18 per student

Note:  Snow is expected over Donner Pass on Fri and Sat with  highs in the 
30's and 40's and lows in the 20's.  In Reno where it is more  protected it 
should be fair weather with highs in the mid to high 50's.  I  suspect we 
will do a fair amount of walking on Friday evening and  it will be much cooler 
than Davis.   Plan accordingly.  

Dinner options at Circus Circus include:
A Mexican restaurant (price  range $8 - $15)
An American Grill - similar to a Denny's sort of fare (price range $8 -  
$15)
A Steak House (no idea but I'm sure more pricey)
An international dinner buffet ($18 pp)

Also, please make sure  that the students have money for the following 
items: 
Friday  Dinner (either on the way up there, or once we arrive)
Friday  Concert $18/student
Saturday Breakfast (at the hotel)  
Saturday Lunch (before we leave or on the way  back).

Hi all,

Here is a list of the competition  locations and times for the combo and 
jazz band. Combo members will be  departing Davis quite early on Friday 
morning and the rest have various  departure times, as noted in the email from 
Katie Horn. Also, if you have yet  to reply and affirm their planning for both 
travel and housing accommodations,  please do so at your earliest 
opportunity.

When we arrive in Reno on  Friday evening, we will make a decision whether 
we will go to dinner then back  to the hotel OR see the evening show. We 
will purchase tickets at the door,  hence the cost will be $18.00 per student 
and $28.00 per adult.
