Greetings:

If you know Davis students in grades 4 to 6 in the district who might be interested in participating in the elementary music program, please pass the following information on to them and their parents. Parent meetings begin on Sept. 8, and attendance is required for beginning students.

DJUSD will continue offering intermediate grade students the following music classes for 2013-2014:

Beginning string lessons for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders
.
Beginning band lessons for 5th and 6th graders
.
Continuing lessons for all 4th, 5th, and 6th graders who have already had 1 year of private or school lessons and meet the standards for second-year students.

To enroll your child in a beginning class, you and your child must attend one of the following meetings:

Band Meetings at: Davis High School, 315 W. 14th Street.
Sept. 9 @ 7:30 p.m. for all schools
Sept. 10 @ 7:30 p.m. for all schools


In order to better serve everyone, we have assigned schools to specific meetings for the strings program.

Please try to attend the meeting assigned to your school. If unable to attend that meeting, you may attend any other.

Strings Meetings at:
For students enrolled in these Elementary schools, the
meetings will be held at PATWIN Elementary
Sept. 8 @ 7:30 p.m. Birch Lane and Willett
Sept. 9 @ 7:30 p.m. Patwin and Chavez

For Students enrolled in these elementary schools, the
meetings will be held at KOREMATSU Elementary School
Sept. 10 @ 7:30 p.m. Pioneer and Montgomery
Sept. 11 @ 7:30 p.m. Korematsu and North Davis


If your child will not be able to participate in the program without the use of a school instrument, district
instruments are available.
