Just two quick reminders for you.

1.        There is a Band Booster meeting tonight in the DHS Band Room  (PA3) at 7:30pm.  (just 1 hr).

2.       Mr. Slabaugh should have given your student a registration form to bring home and have you fill out.

Please fill them out and return them this week.  It is critical information that we need to ensure that you are getting the right information and that you can be contacted in case of emergency.  On the backside of the form, is the opportunity to share where you can help this year.  Sign up for as many items as you have bandwidth to assist.

There are still 12 Monday's of Monday Night Football left.  With each square only costing $50 for the season, that is $4.17 per game.  You can't do an In/Out Burger stop for that.

We are requesting parent volunteers to move and parent vehicles (i.e. vans, trucks) to transport needed equipment.  We will need to transport chairs, music stands, sound equipment, speakers, amplifiers, electrical cords, etc?.  We are requesting parents show up at 1:00 at the band room ready to roll.  We are hoping to get at least 4 parents and their vehicles.  The more volunteers the faster it will go and volunteering is a great opportunity to meet or catch up with other jazz band families.  Please email me to let me know if you can volunteer.

This is a really fun event, providing families and passersby the opportunity to see the first jazz event of the year in a great and relaxed environment.  Bring friends and family. Remember that by the end of the year when the jazz band has stormed the area with great music and memorable performances, that this event offers you the opportunity to say ?I knew them when?..?

Hope to see you there, and again let me know if you are able to volunteer.

When:  Thursday Oct. 23rd, anytime between 4 and 9 p.m.
 
LIVE ENTERTAINMENT by the DHS Pep  Band! 
 
Come see the DHS Pep Band perform at 7:30 outside Lamppost.  Tell your  
neighbors, extended family and friends to come enjoy some pizza before,  during 
or after the performance!
 
A portion of all pizza sales will benefit the DHS Band program.  Just  come 
eat delicious pizza between 4 and 9 pm and mention the band.  It's  that

Please consider additing this "button" to your browser.  It's a very simple way for DHS Band Boosters to earn funds.  Without our carwashes this year, we need to look for other ways to make up those funds we count on for supporting the band and especially our upcoming trip in the spring.

SPRING BAND TRIP INFORMATION  MEETING
 
Wed. November 5th
DHS Band Room
 

7:30 p.m.
 
 
 
Please come to the booster meeting next week, on Wed. Nov 5th to learn  
about the SPRING BAND TRIP.
 
The first part of the meeting will be dedicated to sharing info and  
answering questions about the trip.  It is important to have parents come  and 
learn about the trip as trip registration forms will be going out next week  
and will need to be filled out soon.  It promises to be a very exciting  trip, 
so come learn all about it. 
 
Mr. Slabaugh has agreed to award 15 points to students who have a  parent 
attend the meeting!

Dear Directors

Thank you again for your participation in the annual Sacramento State Winter Jazz Festival on Saturday, December 13.   We are looking forward to serving you and your students.

Attached, you will find an informative letter for directors, copies of the 6 festival venue schedules, and a map of the Sacramento State campus.

Please take a moment to read the brief letter which provides important festival information and review the venue schedules so that you can locate when and where your ensemble will perform.

As indicated in my letter, festival wristbands will be mailed to you shortly.  General admission to the festival, which includes complete access to all performances and events is $10.  Please share this information with parents, family, and friends.  Wristbands must be purchased even if a family member is planning on only attending their child's event.


I will follow up with another email regarding your tune selection and clinic session soon.  Please look for that.

In the mean time, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
