The School Band & Orchestra Magazine has announced this year's annual essay contest: http://www.sbomagazine.com/essay-contest/
Write in 250 words (or less) "If You Were The School Principal What Musical Ensembles Would You Include In Your Curriculum and Why?"
Deadline is December 31, and entries can be posted online or sent by U.S. postal service. Scholarship prizes ($1000 check) are awarded to student finalists, and the school gets a contribution of musical equipment from music merchants.

Note that there are two categories -- grades 9-12 and grades 4-8.
