Don't miss your chance to experience a taste of the Monterey Next Generation Jazz Festival by coming to the Spring Jazz Showcase concert at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday night, March 20.  This special jazz festival preview concert will take place at the Brunelle Performance Hall on the DHS campus.  Suggested donation $8.00 general, $6.00 students/seniors.  The jazz big bands from Davis High School and CSU Sacramento were each chosen as one of 12 finalists (out of many applicants from across the country and around the world) for their respective high school and college divisions  in the Monterey festival, which is coming up April 1-3, 2011. Top bands at the Next Generation festival will be chosen to perform at the 54th annual Monterey Jazz Festival in September.  The DHS Jazz Band and the CSU Sacramento Jazz Band will both be featured at the concert Sunday and will be playing their festival music line-ups. We are lucky to have such talented musicians right here on our doorstep - let's send them off with enthusiasm and our best wishes for an unforgettable Jazz Festival experience!
