T -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello Fellow Band Parents, I really need some parents to step forward for this Sunday's carwash. Mostly because the kids cannot drive the cars and we need to move them as they are washed and dried and parked. I need 4 more parents for the 1st shift(11-1pm) as well as 2 for the 2nd (1-3).. It doesn't matter if your child is signed up or not, we need help. We can't do this and run smoothly without your help. If parents can send water or snack with their student, that would be appreciated. This is really a chance to be with a good group of kids and help supervise. and have fun! I can't do it alone. PLEASE! Kids and parents please show up10min. before your shift so we can be ready to go. We had people waiting last time. Please email me. If your student wishes to order a sweatshirt, but didn't sign up in class today, please send an email to me, Naomi Egel, at negel at sbcglobal.net no later than 12:00 noon on Sunday. Please let me know your student's name and what size they would like. In the past, sweatshirts have run a tiny bit big, so if they're in between sizes, I would recommend the smaller size. The cost will be around $23, but we will let you know once the final order has been placed. Thanks! It is next Saturday, Oct 24th, across from Farmer's Market at the DJUSD parking lot from 9am-1pm. It is an earlier carwash because of the Saturday Market and both of our Saturday carwashes will be 9am-1pm(last one, Nov. 7th). It is also the morning after the Homecoming game and the Dance afterwards. Please make sure that your student is aware of this obligation and responsibility if he/she signs up. They will be expected to show up for their shift or will not be able to participate in the last carwash. There are many students that want these slots therefore, they should be able to get them because it's for their benefit and their account. Thank you for making sure this message is passed on. I think the students are doing a great job and they should be able to pretty much have this run smoothly themselves. However, we still do need parents to volunteer to help out and drive the cars onward and to be parked. We expect a lot of people to leave their car and go to Sat. Farmer's Mkt. I will be saving spots with orange cones for this specific need. So this carwash expecially will need drivers. I need 4 more for the 9-11am shift and 3 more for the 11-1pm. The Band carwash might have been half as busy as usual but the students were still hard workers and had a good time. Peter Matlock actually brought a boom box and that definitely added some fun! Thank you to all the parents and students that showed up even though it was the day after homecoming and a dance. We have had some parents show up quite a few times and many of them have plans for the last carwash on Nov. 7th, 9-1p, at the Covell Nugget. So, I am putting it out there now for some parent volunteers. We need to drive the cars as students are not allowed to. The parents help keep things moving forward. You can email me at theresalucas09 at comcast.net if you can work the 9-11a.m or 11-1p.m shift. It makes my life easier to know ahead of time. Thank you so much. It's a fun night of tasty eats, great music by student bands, and a time to get to know junior high and high school band families. This year the event takes place on February 27, 2010. And you can have even more fun: you can help make it happen. We have lots of ways for parents to help from planning/leadership roles to set-up or cooking. Our kick-off meeting will be TONIGHT Tuesday October 27, 7:30pm-9pm . at the home of Mike & Ruth Coleman, 2217 Isle Royale Lane. Please join us! Although the Jazz Choir would be able to go on the New Orleans trip, the Jazz band has a number of conflicts and we have a significant number of students who would not be able to go.? Thus, we will not be going to New Orleans this year.? We would like to keep our interaction with the Jazz Choir strong, so we will still try to plan joint events with the Choir. ? However, because our Jazz Band is a tight knit group where every member plays an important contribution, we still need to hold the Monterey Next Generation Festival dates 4/9-4/11)?open.? This is still during the last weekend of?Spring break.? We will be sending in?an audition tape and will not hear?if we are?accepted until February. ? See you at the Jazz Band Concerts, Mike Choy ? ? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
