[Dhsbb-jazz] Dec 10 Jazz Festival Trip for DHS Jazz Band

Dear Jazz Band Families-
   
  The DHS Jazz band and Combo will be participating in the Redwood Empire Jazz Festival held at Santa Rosa Junior College on Saturday, Dec 10.
   
  We will travel by carpool.  Mr Lange wants to leave DHS @ 10 am.
  Students and parent drivers should arrive in the Band Room for check in by 9:45 am.
  Student performers will participate in Jazz Clinics and will listen to performances by other participating high school bands.  There will be a noon concert featuring the Santa Rosa Junior College "A" Band and guest artist, Michael Davis.
   
  DHS Combo will warm up @ 1:45 pm and perform @ 2:15 pm.
   
  DHS Big Band will warm up @ 3:45 pm and perform @ 4:15 pm.
   
  Performance time is 25 minutes/ ensemble.
   
  Both groups will have about 30 minutes of feedback time with a clinician immediately following their performances.  After the Big Band feedback session is over, we will get back in our carpools (about 5 pm) and drive back to Davis.  We will not be staying at the festival for the award ceremony because some students need to get back for the DHS Jr Prom.
   
  Student performers and director will have festival passes provided.  Drivers/chaperones/family members must purchase festival tickets at the door ($10 Adults/ $5 children)
   
  I will print up driving directions to Santa Rosa Jr College for our volunteer drivers, but you can find them and a campus map at    www.santarosa.edu/map/
   
  So far, I have received the following completed drivers forms (Thank You!) from:
             Pettygrove, Mann, Haberman,Voss, Conte, Theg, Chuck, Reed-Jones,    Scarr-Dickey, Rabowsky.
   
  I just need updated proof of insurance card copies from:
          Rose, Roach, Thompson, Lovett-Gill.  (Please mail them to me.)
   
  I have not yet received forms or insurance card copies from:
       Fyhrie, Hartnett, Swanson, Kelly, Matlock, Borges, Barnett, Carlton, Amon, Stansell, O'Keefe.  
  Please complete the pink driver's forms I sent  via mail to you in Oct and mail back to me @   Doreen Conte   918 Colby Drive, Davis 95616
  If you have misplaced your forms, you can pick one up at the DHS Office (Sharon Lake's desk across from the nurse's station) or call me and I'll put another in the mail to you.  Please include a copy of your insurance card.
   
  We will be carpooling the Jazz Band a few times this year, so I'd like to have forms on file for every student's family car, so we're ready to go.  Thanks very much!
   
  All Jazz band Parents:  Please RSVP to  doreenconte at yahoo.com  and let me know if you will be able to drive to and from Santa Rosa on Saturday, Dec 10.
  Also let me know how many students you can transport.
   
  Students will wear their Jazz Band uniforms and will need to bring their instruments.
  Drummers must bring Hi-Hat set (stand, cymbals, clutch), cymbals, and bass drum pedal.  Bass/Guitar players must bring their own patch cords.  A stage drum set and acoustic piano will be provided.  
   
  Students should bring a bag lunch, drink, and snack or money for snacks.  There are a few food options at the festival, but not much.
   
  I look forward to seeing you and to hearing our ensembles perform at the festival.  The band will be striving for a "superior rating" or a win at the competition, so come cheer them on!
