The DDC wanted to find a place where club money could have the greatest impact.? The PAC committee looked and identified Iowa.? Iowa is a state that is completely controlled by Republicans.? The Red party controls the Governor, 2 Senator and 3 House seats.? Democrat Rob Sand leads in the race for governor, along with Democrat Josh Turek in the US Senate race who trailed by 2 points with a 4 point margin of error in the latest Fortune magazine quoted poll -- so that is a statistical tie.? The DDC decided to put $4000 into the House races where our money would have the greatest effect.? Well the money did have an effect.? The latest polls show that the Dems are now leading in CD1 and CD2 and that CD2 is now a toss up. The DDC Bluesky account looked at each of the races and found that Lindsay James is the most vibrant of the three candidates. She has a biting sense of humor, which the Republicans have taken as a challenge to pillory and parody her campaign.? As such, the DDC has embraced the James account and we expect to do more with her campaign on Bluesky.? We are already posting on these 3 House races.? We would like to remind everyone that these were Red seats and there is a good chance they will turn Blue.? There is a 4th congressional district in Iowa.? In that district Red candidate Chris McGowan received 55,000 votes.? The Democrat Dave Dawson received 11,300 votes with 17,500 votes split between two other Democrats.? There are not enough Blue votes in the district to beat McGowan, who captured 58.64% of the vote in the primary.? A race where you and I can make a difference is Lindsay James in Iowa.? Her district is right now, a statistical tie.? Her website is https://www.lindsayforiowa.com. The other two Iowa candidates Bohanan CD1 and Garriot CD3 have surged in the polls since Trump started on his campaign tour and the current polls place them 1 to 2 points ahead of their Republican opponents. The campaigns that have thanked us on social media for the DDC contributions are:? Marne vonWilpert, Randy Villegas, Dave Min, Derek Tran, and Myra Vega.? ?We are trying to help more on social media with Mayra Vega campaign.? The Yolo Business PAC is supporting her opponent with money and $98,000 in materials and logistical support.? We continue to go further with help on social media.? We are also integrated on social media with the Collen Zern campaign for District 1, West Davis school board race. We are now fully supporting Mary Peltola on Facebook, interacting with her campaign.? We are taking her Facebook content and posting and promoting her with original DDC posts on Bluesky and X/Twitter. We are fully involved with the Randy Villegas campaign on social media, posting and reposting for the campaign.? We were already in full campaign support mode for Mike Thompson and Dave Min.? Dave Min is the only Congressman that continued to post weekly after the 2024 election and like Mike Thompson follows us on X/Twitter. Because of this, the DDC has been fully supporting Min and Thompson on social media from day 1 of the 119th Congress. We have heard from the Randy Villegas and Marni von Wilpert campaigns on social media and they have both thanked us for the financial and online social media support. They are both deeply appreciative of the DDC support.? On social media we have heard from the Mike Levin campaign for congress. He is in the district next to von Wilpert and is expected to win by 4 points in CD 49.? He is asking for support for Marni von Wilpert in CD48.? Marne von Wilpert was an Obama workers rights attorney in San Diego County.? She flipped a seat Blue on the Red San Diego City Council.? She is for labor and immigrant rights.? She is running against a Trump supported MAGA opponent, whose campaign is based on hate of what they are calling the flood of illegal aliens bringing crime into Riverside and San Diego County.? Marni von Wilpert is a lightening rod for the war against ICE and supporter of immigrant rights.? That is why there is so much Republican party money going into this race. If? von Wilpert is able to win and flip another Red seat Blue, she will show that hate and fear do not win elections, but love, understanding and tolerance can win the day and point to a brighter future for the American dream.? I just want DDC members to understand what is at stake in this district election and why so much money and energy is being poured into it by both sides. The DDC and The Verbs are making a difference.? No matter what happens in this election, the DDC is supporting morality, not hate, fear and intolerance.? If we flip this seat, we will have succeeded in furthering implementing our message on social media.? We will have to see if the polls are affected by Trump's recent rhetoric which is using San Diego as a prop for a nuclear attack from Iran.? No matter how you slice and dice the words, no other president in my memory has mentioned two American cities for nuclear attack.? If vonWilpert wins CD 48 with a wide margin, it will be clear that Trump is the one that provided the Democrats that seat that was too close to call before his latest speeches. For those looking for the club Twitter (now X) account: https://x.com/DavisDemocratic We now are at 6,900 Followers.? We are now 100 followers above our midterm goal of 6800.? We are 1000 followers above the 5800 follower limit.? If our number of followers drop below that number, we will close the X/Twitter account so as to not pay any money or contribute numbers to Elon Musk and his platform success.? The BIG difference to date is that we are actively interfacing with the 16 campaigning congress people on X and informing them of the $38,000 that the DDC has donated to their campaigns plus the Governor's race and the Yolo County Supervisor Race.? We are too small for them to ban us and we continue to post and magnify anti-Trump posts.? We continue to work to flip the House and Senate Blue.? We continue to #RESIST ?I cannot post it enough, I get most of our hardest hitting material from Blue posts on X to post on Bluesky. What makes the work easier on social media is the help of Eileen Samitz with supporting posting material.? Luba Schmid contributes both photos an movies and helps with likes and comments.? Luba Schmid and I produce local material and plan to cover No Kings Day with material and posts on October 17.? Pytor Alexievich, an American in Kyiv, provides material from Ukraine and is a good friend to the DDC. We get invaluable follower recruitment support from Judith Bolyard, an American in Thailand.? Judith has been attracting 30 to 50 Followers per day to the DDC Bluesky account.? We get additional editorial cartoons? and follower recruitment support from a person that goes by the handle?ACW1234.? Of course we would not be part of the #RESIST movement is not for all the unemployed National Park workers at Alt National Parks.? I purchase the Smokey the Bear #RESIST pins and bumper stickers from them that we give away to any who want them at the PBE meetings.? We get all our news about what Trump is doing -- everywhere.? When we started following them, they had over 140,000 followers.? They have grown to a massive 896,120+ Followers.? They took the DDC #RESIST and made it their own.? And, I appreciate it, because they turned it into merch I can give away to #RESIST Trump!? You can pick up this #RESIST merch at the PBE meetings. In Davis, we had over 1500 people turn out for No Kings at the G Street Plaza.? People participated in the march from all 4 march locations.? I saw various DDC members at this event.? Thank you for your participation. Nationwide, 9 million participants turned out.? This is 1 million more than the June 15th No Kings, but still short of 12 million, the magic number.? No regime has survived 3.5% of it population marching in the streets. I hope to start posting before sunrise footage from the 3 No Kings events that I targeted. In other news, the DDC social media account is pushing the new Iowa congressional races that the club gave more money to, along with Randy Villegas, Congressman Pan, and Marni vonWilpert. Our efforts have not gone un-noticed.? We garnered recognition from Congressman Derek Tran CA CD45 for our help of Marni vonWilpert.? The campaign thanked us for the support, while the Tran campaign is doing fundraising for vonWilpert.? ?With Trump's comments inviting Iran to nuke San Diego, the polls are putting vonWilpert as turning this red seat Blue.? The DDC supported Derek Tran with a $2000 contribution and it is gratifying to see that campaign acknowledge as a Blue supporter of democracy.? They have even put the the DDC on a list to follow on Bluesky. The DDC sent an additional $2000 for a total of $4000 to Marni vonWilpert.? The money and Trump seems to have won the day for Democrat Blue in San Diego.? Thank you DDC. In Iowa, the DDC has been sending and posting campaign material and links for the 3 targeted congressional districts. These are Iowa Congressional Districts Christina Bohannan Iowa CD 1, $2,000 Lindsay James Iowa CD 2, $1000 Sarah Trone Garriott Iowa CD3, $1000 Our efforts have not gone unnoticed and unrecognized by Lindsay James.? Lindsay James thanks the DDC for the support.? The polls have her neck and neck with her opponent.? Any help on line or with contributions will help push this district blue.? Poll have her ahead by 2 to 3% points over her opponent.??Her website is https://www.lindsayforiowa.com. The other two Iowa candidates Bohannan CD1 and Garriot CD3 have surged and one has ebbed in the polls since Trump started on his campaign tour and the current polls place Bohannan ahead by 4 to 5 points and Garriott ahead by 0 to 3 points of their Republican opponents.? Message-ID: <1d0bef81-729f-436e-913b-946c5603e01a@virtual-markets.net> Greetings all, As we enter into the final week before November 3, just this quick report. The Davis Democratic Club on Bluesky has 39,295 followers.? I was hoping to have 40,000 by election day, but I think we will have 39,400 on Nov 3rd.? We shall see.? We are pushing Iowa with Christina Bohannan Iowa CD 1, Sarah Trone Garriott Iowa CD 3 and thoroughly integrated with Lindsay James Iowa CD 2, In California we are pushing Mike Thompson CD4, and totally engaged with Dave Min CD 47, Randy Villegas CD 22, Marni vonWilpert CD 48 and Derek Tran CD 45.? We are being courted and have helped Mike Levin CD 49 as he tries to help embattled Marni von Wilpert.? The DDC did not send him money, but he is favored to win his district, so he is sending aid to CD48.? All of these California congressional campaigns are aware of the DDC's contributions and have acknowledged us.? The one other campaign that has thanked us is Lindsay James CD 2 in Iowa.? Derek Tran's campaign has actively helped us try to reach our 40K goal and I am appreciative of the effort.? Also, because it is a Blue on Blue race and I support Doris Matsui, I still have to acknowledge Mai Vang reached out and thanked the DDC for its $1000 contribution to her campaign.? The DDC board members that voted to send her money should take pride in her action of thanking the club.? Another person that thanked the club for its contribution is Mayra Vega.? Because of the words of appreciation, the DDC Bluesky and X/Twitter accounts have given its all to these mentioned campaigns, except for Mai Vang -- which would have done so if someone would have stepped up to help her campaign.? It is not too late.? If someone from the DDC would spearhead support for her online, you can carry her banner forward.? The only other campaign that the DDC has been promoting is Mary Peltola.? She has no presence on Bluesky or Twitter, but supporters of hers are on Bluesky and we have interface with them.? Also on Facebook, I have been using my personal account and sending Peltola posts to the DDC Facebook account.? The DDC Facebook account has picked up over a hundred more followers this campaign.? The DDC X/Twitter account reached 6900 followers and currently has fallen back to 6871 followers. Basically, we are shadow banned on X/Twitter, but we still make good trouble amongst the MAGA trolls.? The DDC has a Truth Social account, so we can see and do screen captures of the madness that Trump does each night he has insomnia.? But rest assured, we are so thoroughly shadow banned, no one see the DDC account and we have no followers and even have no haters. I would like to thank Eileen Samitz and Stephen Souza who help with the Bluesky and X/Twitter DDC presence.? Other people that I have to thank are Luba Schmid and Judy Reynolds.? There are people outside of the DDC that that are helping that people may know and they are Roberta Millstein and Sue Greenwald.? Other people that have lent morale support are DDC Members Frank Maurer, Keith vonBorstel, Giles Giovinazzi, Ameer Alsawaf, Betty Woo, Helen Thomson, Carl Schmid, Marilu Carter, Rick Gonzales, and Bob Bockwinkel.? If I did not mention your name, send me an email to poke an remind me. Ameer Alsawaf, Betty Woo, and Helen Thomson and Frank Maurer are the reasons that I am trying to start a DDC presence on Next Door,? Actually Ameer is important logistically in aiding this effort in establishing the Next Door account.? Of course Eileen Samitz is a great help on all three platforms and she and Stephen Souza have provided timely support when critical decisions must be made in sponsoring content with our friends on Bluesky and X/Twitter. To get followers, you must generate original content to post online.? There are allies that provide such content for the DDC account, but the unsung hero has been Dr Frank Maurer.? He has been providing material that is critical of the Trump regime to the tune of 5 posts per month since last November.? The DDC posts get thousands of views on Bluesky and X/Twitter and on my personal Facebook account.? Without Dr Maurer's poems, the DDC would not have those eyeballs watching the DDC fight the Trump regime.? This month alone, Dr Maurer's prose poems have brought in views and followers with "Will Alberta, Canada, Become Independentt..., Heat Illness and Death, Requiring Black Men to Shave, Dumocrats, Walking Away and Penguin March."??If you have no idea what I am referring to, you should log into the DDC accounts.? On X/Twitter the account is https://x.com/DavisDemocratic ?On Bluesky the account is https://bsky.app/profile/davisdemocraticclub.org On Facebook the account is https://www.facebook.com/DavisDemocrats My personal Facebook is https://www.facebook.com/koi.yamagata.7 Lastly, one of the original content providers that lets me post his content is Pytor Alexievich, an American voice in Kyiv Ukraine.? I met him through my support of the Ukrainian actors studio, Amomama. The studio head, Igor Vysnevska,?said that I should really meet this person online and he is a brilliant online advocate for Ukraine.? Through my efforts, the DDC sponsors his Tick Tock podcast quarterly.? He gives a great dedication to the Davis Democratic Club.? As we work to get out the vote to turn Congress Blue to end the Trump tyranny ruling this country through executive orders, please give a listen to this dedication from Pytor Alexievich: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OuQ7ijowh7s&t=2903s Vote Blue. #RESIST ?? ??
