This is being sent out to the volunteers list.  You are on this list
because you are the most politically active people in Davis.  This is a
non-partisan list that reaches across all parties.  This e-mail is from
a Republican asking for action at a gathering against MAGA forces
operating in Davis.  This is a united effort reaching across political
lines.

Dear Friends,

I am writing to personally invite you to the Indivisible Yolo and Sister
District Yolo Election kickoff this coming Sunday August 25th from 4-5
at the Vets Memorial. *In the words of Michelle Obama last night at the
DNC,  with less than 11 weeks until Nov 5, it’s time to “Do Something.”
* Our partners are the Davis Democratic Party, the Davis College Dems
and the West Sacramento Democratic Party, and our MC is former Yolo
County Supervisor Don Saylor.  Learn more here:
_https://www.mobilize.us/indivisibleyolo/event/655465/_

We are all thrilled to witness the energy and enthusiasm exuded by the
DNC and the Harris/Walz ticket and the huge crowds attending the
rallies.  Yet - we remain highly aware that we must still do all we can
to get out the vote!  According to Robert Reich and recent history,
there is still the very real possibility that Dems win the popular vote
but lose because of the Electoral College! As Tim Walz recently said, it
is not enough to hope to defeat Trump and MAGA, we must plan, prepare
and do the work to win!

Please mark your calendars and join us this coming Sunday August 25th to
hear guest speakers Michael Tubbs, Jasmine Clarke and Antonio de Loera
Brust describe the stakes, the solutions and then – please stay to meet
with our active volunteers who are already out in the field talking to
voters and signing up young people to vote!  We do fun, impactful one
day canvassing or voter registration trips to two target districts in
the Central Valley and in Reno; we have phone banks three days a week
from 5-7 with local Davis staff, (or you can get trained and call at the
most convenient time for you); we have a text team and a team that does
voter research and protection work.  And it’s easy - you can join one of
those teams and make a difference without ever needing to leave home.
Surely one of these activities is a fit for you!

I feel strongly that we cannot allow the MAGA forces to take over our
country. They are a clear and present danger! Our goal is to double or
triple the number of active volunteers with Indivisible Yolo from 100 to
200 or 300 - can you be one of them?  Will you sign up right now or on
Sunday for a weekly or monthly action or join one of our teams?

If you have more money than time, can you make a donation below to one
of the groups we recommend in order to know you are doing your part to
protect voting and reproductive rights and help save our fragile democracy?

I would love to be able to tell you more.

Please RSVP and/or give me a call if you need more information, have a
question or a comment.

Sincerely, Megan  510-542-1391
