B)FREE ALL-DAY conference,open , Friday, March 7, 1030-530p, Wright Hall, on JOHN STEINBECK, the Depression, and THE GRAPES OF WRATH. Professors from the Departments of Economics, History, English, and Comparative Literature.
 Also, author Sasha Abramsky,THE AMERICAN WAY OF POVERTY:HOW THE OTHER HALF LIVES--listed by the NY Times as 1 of the top 100 books of 2013, in the tradition  of the  outstanding book by Jacob Riis during the Progressive Era in early 20th Century America, and Michael Harrington's book of the early 1960s.
