MSNBC took poll yesterday: 69% strongly disagreed with postponing the
presidential debate this Friday.

If there were ever a time we needed to hear the candidates' plans for
how they'd run the country, it's now.
DON'T LET MCCAIN AND PALIN DUCK THE DEBATES!
<http://site.pfaw.org/site/R?i=msBXIaUGYlzByqdSO52FAw..>
Dear friends and fellow-citizens,
It's more important than ever that Americans get to hear the two
presidential candidates discuss, side by side, what they would do to solve
our nation's problems. But the McCain-Palin campaign is trying to
politicize the financial crisis and use it as an excuse to postpone both
tomorrow's presidential debate AND the only vice presidential debate.
Call their bluff! Sign our emergency petition
<http://site.pfaw.org/site/R?i=jrODIdyWUVKWXO_TzCXbHA..> to the Debate
Commission to make sure the debate schedule stays intact and tomorrow's
takes place as planned. If McCain doesn't want to show up, then Senator
Obama should be allowed to use the full time to answer the moderator's
questions and to tell America about how his administration would govern.
Please take a moment and sign right now.
<http://site.pfaw.org/site/R?i=kTVF-chzneZzHFkLBnA-Ew..> We need to deliver
this petition to the Commission tomorrow!
Sen. Lindsey Graham, one of Sen. McCain's main surrogates, said that if
Congress doesn't pass a "bailout" bill to address the current financial
crisis by tomorrow, then McCain would not show up for tomorrow's debate in
Mississippi. This only goes to reinforce the Bush administration's mad rush
to get Congress to hand over $700 billion -- of our money -- with no
strings attached, and no accountability. Even now, it seems McCain is
carrying the Bush administration's water.
Sign the petition now to make sure the debate happens as scheduled.
<http://site.pfaw.org/site/R?i=i8VOwiRlU0nQdQ0tW1-NEA..> Then ask five
friends to sign as well. We need you to join this effort right now.
The McCain-Palin campaign's maneuvering is part of a broader political
strategy. By politicizing the financial crisis, it seems likely that they
hope to accuse Obama of not putting the "country first" just because he is
willing to debate the important issues and address the nation. And they
hope to keep Sarah Palin out of the spotlight and away from scrutiny even
longer than they already have (with the real possibility of the ONLY debate
between Biden and Palin not happening at all!).
But here are the facts. As recently as September 15, McCain didn't even
acknowledge there WAS a crisis, famously saying, "the fundamentals of our
economy are strong." And he has repeatedly admitted that he is an economic
lightweight.* He even admitted that he had not bothered to read the
THREE-PAGE "bailout" proposal from the administration before suspending his
campaign and making his debate threats. Why he feels he needs to return to
Washington instead of addressing the problems in front of the country is a
mystery.
Everything about this desperate political "Hail Mary" is an outrage. Don't
let McPalin get away with it. Petition the Debate Commission NOW to keep
the debate schedule intact!
<http://site.pfaw.org/site/R?i=TPp959WkQunwG9rzgrU3iA..> And then ask five
friends to sign.

P.S. With Election Day just over a month away and early voting starting in
many states very soon, America deserves to hear from the candidates.
Don't let them cancel the debates!
