I am reposting a message sent today by list subscriber, John Brown,
in which he stated:
Just slightly more than 10% of ARRA funded broadband projects are in
finishing stages.
Yet they are all supposed to be done by Sept 30, 2013
$600+ million REVOKED, SUSPENDED or RELINQUISHED.
WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY.
-------
Attached is the announcement for this Wednesday's hearing in DC,
to review the NTIA-BTOP and USDA-RUS-BIP stimulus program awards,
status and failings.
While this meeting will be highly politicized, given the current
contentiuos
climate in DC, the issues and methods surrounding broadband stimulus
are
worthy of critical but productive consideration, if we are to move
forward
more constructively.
